Serbia – 8 July 2022

Member of the ‘Jackals’ Serb paramilitary unit, Zoran Raskovic, told the Belgrade Higher Court that one of defendants in the case of war crimes in four Kosovo villages in spring of 1999 was present during the shooting of a group of Albanian civilians. The full article can be found here.


Bosnia and Hercegovina – 11 July 2022

Fifty newly identified victims were honoured and interred in Bosnia as thousands gathered to commemorate the anniversary of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre: Europe's only genocide since the Holocaust. The full article can be found here.


Bosnia and Hercegovina – 11 July 2022

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina has for the first time published statistical data on category “A” war crime cases, noting that investigations in more than 250 such cases were discontinued. The full article can be found here.


Serbia – 12 July 2022

Ivica Husnik, who was convicted in Serbia of involvement in the killings of some 200 people at Ovcara Farm near Vukovar in November 1991, was extradited to Croatia on 7 July to serve his sentence for a different crime, Osijek County Court confirmed. The full article can be sound here.


Bosnia and Hercegovina – 12 July 2022

The ten defendants are charged at the Bosnian State Court, with planning and carrying out an attack, on 3 May 1992, in Dobrovoljacka Street in Sarajevo on an undefended convoy of Yugoslav People’s Army soldiers and civilians employed with them. Serbia – 12 July 2022

The trial in the case against seven former Bosnian Serb special policemen accused of involvement in the killing of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in an agricultural warehouse in the Bosnian village of Kravica in July 1995 was postponed again at Belgrade Higher Court. The full article can be found here.


Croatia – 12 July 2022

European ministers gave their approval for Croatia to adopt the euro just as the single currency fell to its lowest level against the US dollar in two decades. The full article can be found here.

Kosovo - 13 July 2022

A new book has been released, which tells the rarely-heard stories of Kosovo Albanians who were detained in grim conditions on the Croatian island of Goli Otok (Barren Island), a prison camp for political dissidents in the former Yugoslavia. The full article can be found here.
