Moldova – 22 July 2025
Moldova’s police on Tuesday said it had received confirmation through Interpol in Athens that Greek authorities had detained the fugitive oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, an internationally sanctioned figure on the run since 2019. The full article can be found here.
Bosnia and Hercegovina – 21 July 2025
In a first-instance verdict, Bosnia’s state court sentenced two former members of the Military Police of the Bosnian Serb Army, VRS, Slavisa Djeric and Nenad Ujic, to three and four-year prison terms, respectively. Both were found guilty of abusing Bosniak civilians held in the “Rasadnik” detention facility in Rogatica between July and December 1995. The full article can be found here.
Montenegro – 21 July 2025
The High Court in Podgorica has sentenced former Bosnian Serb fighter Slobodan Pekovic, formerly Curcic, to 20 years in prison for committing war crimes against the civilian population near Foca in eastern Bosnia. The full article can be found here.
Croatia – 20 July 2025
A delegation from Croatia, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr Marko Primorac, and a delegation from the Swiss Confederation, led by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Croatia, His Excellency Urs Wolfgang Wilhelm Hammer, signed a key protocol in Zagreb on 18 July 2025. Bosnia and Hercegovina – 18 July 2025

Kosovo – 18 July 2025
The Prishtinë Basic Court on Friday ordered 30 days of detention for a police officer who was arrested the day before on espionage allegations. Bojan Jevtic, an ethnic Serb from the eastern town of Kamenice/Kamenica, is suspected of leaking confidential police information to Serbia’s state security service. Kosovo – 16 July 2025
The Kosovo Specialist Chambers in the Hague dismissed a joint motion proposed by the defence for the former Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA, leaders, former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and three others, on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The full article can be found here.
North Macedonia – 16 July 2025
North Macedonia on Wednesday marked the start of construction of its biggest-yet wind farm, a €430 million investment by Luxembourg-based company Alcazar Energy, presenting it as important step towards the country’s transition to renewable energy. The full article can be found here.
