Bosnia and Hercegovina – 10 June 2025

Lawyers for former Bosnian Serb commander Dragomir Milosevic, sentenced to 29 years for terrorising civilians in Sarajevo, have again submitted a request for his early release. The full article can be found here.

 

Moldova – 10 June 2025

The Council of Europe’s anti-trafficking body, GRETA, in a new report says Moldova has improved its laws and support services for victims of human trafficking in the last five years, but more effective measures are needed to prevent child trafficking, bolster victim assistance and ensure thorough investigations and prosecutions. Kosovo – 09 June 2025

A draft statute obtained by BIRN suggests Kosovo’s president will press ahead with a ‘presidential’ commission on Kosovo’s 1998-99 war, ignoring experts who say it risks being seen as ‘highly political’. The full article can be found here.

 

Bosnia and Hercegovina – 09 June 2025

The president of the Serbian Democratic Party, SDS, and mayor of Teslic, Milan Milicevic, was arrested on Monday in an anti-corruption operation led by the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, RS, the country’s Serb-led entity. The full article can be found here.

 

Kosovo – 05 June 2025

The Prishtinë Basic Court sentenced Kosovo Serb Aleksandar Vlajic to five years’ imprisonment for espionage as an agent and collaborator with Serbia’s Security Information Agency, BIA. The full article can be found here.

 

Montenegro – 05 June 2025

Remains believed to belong to three members of a Bosniak family killed in 1992 after they fled to Montenegro to escape the war in Bosnia have been exhumed in the city of Niksic. The full article can be found here. 

 

Croatia – 04 June 2025

Croatia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Ivan Anusic, presented the new Law on Service in the Armed Forces, restoring obligatory military service, to the public. The full article can be found here.
